Flowtite GRP Pipe Technology is produced using the continuous advancing mandrel (filament wound) process, which represents the state of the art in GRP pipe production. Using technology developed by material specialists, a very compressed laminate is created that maximizes the contribution from the three basic raw materials glass-fiber, resin and sand. A sand fortifier is used to provide increased stiffness by adding extra thickness, placed near the neutral axis in the core. With a dual resin delivery system, the equipment has the capability of applying a special inner resin liner for severely corrosive applications while utilizing a standard type resin for the structural and outer portion of the laminate. Taking advantage of the filament winding process, other materials such as a glass veil or a polyester veil can be used to enhance the abrasion and chemical resistance of the pipe. With more than nearly 30 million feet in the ground worldwide, Flowtite Technology Piping Systems are proven to be a reliable, cost-effective solution to water, sewer and industrial piping applications. Fiberglass Pipe is lightweight and extremely corrosion resistant and available in various standard pressure classes up to 465 psi (32 bars) depending upon diameter, four pipe stiffness classes and in diameters ranging from 4" (100mm) – 156” (4000mm) depending upon manufacturing facility. |
